The Sports & Business Committee is dedicated to harnessing the power of sports to inspire and drive business excellence within the community. Our committee serves as a bridge between the world of athletics and the business sector, fostering relationships and creating opportunities for professional and personal growth through shared values of teamwork, leadership, and resilience.

Aims and Objectives

• Promote Community Engagement: By organizing sports-focused events, we aim to foster a strong sense of community, bringing people together from all sectors and encouraging active, healthy lifestyles.

• Showcase the Business of Sport: We explore how sports-related industries contribute to economic growth and employment, from management and marketing to sponsorship and technology. Our focus is on understanding the financial impact of sports, fostering new ideas, and identifying emerging opportunities in this dynamic field.

• Facilitate Networking and Collaboration: We create spaces for individuals and businesses to connect, share insights, and build mutually beneficial relationships. Our events encourage collaboration, allowing participants to learn from successful business leaders and sports professionals alike.

• Develop Leadership and Team Skills: Through workshops and hands-on activities, we provide opportunities for participants to hone their leadership and team-building skills, which are essential both on the field and in the office.

Events and Activities

The committee will host a variety of events throughout the year, including:

• Sports Industry Panels and Networking Events: Featuring leaders from sports organizations, marketing agencies, and local businesses, these events provide insights into how sports and business are interlinked and discuss trends such as sports analytics, sponsorship, and athlete branding.

• Sports in the Community: These events encourage members to participate in and support local sports initiatives, highlighting the role of sports in fostering community pride and social responsibility.

• Workshops on Sports-Related Business Skills: Covering areas such as strategic planning, negotiation, and branding, these sessions will use real-world sports scenarios to illustrate essential business principles.
